1. GUISEPPE1 LOPRESTI was born between 1861 and 1862 in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily.1 He married Filippa 'Caterina' DiDio, daughter of Gaetano DiDio and (--?--) DeoFillipo, between 1883 and 1884 in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily.2 He died between 1920 and 1940 in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily.3
He immigrated in October, 1907 to Sandy Hill, New Jersey.4 He appeared on the census of April 15, 1910 in Whitehall, Washington, New York.5 He emigrated on December 28, 1919 from Palermo, Sicily; Guiseppe and his family returned to Sicily sometime near the start of World War I. Guiseppe returned with his daughter Maria in 1919. Family oral history suggests he later returned to his wife in Sicily.6
FILIPPA 'CATERINA' DIDIO was born between 1866 and 1867 in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily.7 She died after 1947 in San Piero Patti, Messina, Sicily.8 She emigrated on December 3, 1909 from Palermo, Sicily; Caterina and her family returned to Sicily near the start of World War I. Three of her daughters would later return to America.9
